No Insurance - Does Someone Know Where I Can Go To Get My Meds Free?

Monday, October 30th, 2006

I was diagnosed Bi Polar about 1 year ago, I was 22 and was on my dad’s insurance. Since then I turned 23 and my dads insurance canceled me of his. The meds I take are psych meds and they are very expensive. It’s hard for me to get a job because I hear voices in my head and see shadows. Medicaid denied me when I applied. I’m hoping I can find some way to get my meds because I don’t want to go crazy and I don’t want to die. If anyone knows where or how I can receive my meds with out paying such a high price, I would be most grateful. I’m scared and desperate. Please anyone, does someone know where I can go or apply to get my meds cheaper or free? Email me at tsawyer458@aol.com

Hard To Keep Healthy

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Due to a job switch recently, I have lost my health insurance. My blood pressure medication alone for 1 month is over $100. My husband is on disability and cannot help financially, so I am going without my meds right now. I don’t understand why prescriptions are so expensive, making it so hard to keep ourselves healthy.

No Help for the Poor

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

I had health insurance but lost it when I was terminated from my job. I was told buy other health insurance companies that they can not cover me due to my previous health history.

I have arthritis all over my body, suffer from disk problems and pinched nerve in my leg. I also have high blood pressure, depression, anxiety and stomach ulcers.

I was denied for Medicaid and disability. Sometimes I able to get some samples from the doctor but not for the pain medication. Therefore I usually don’t take as many as I am supposed to and always am in pain. I cannot afford the epidural injection for the pain.
Often times I am not able to buy all my medications and if I do then I cannot buy enough food.

My family tries to help when they can but have their own families.
I keep praying and know that God will make a way for me.

Tired Of Being Broke

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

I just turned 20 years old and went to college at Texas A&M. My family is very tight on money, so I had a hard time paying my bills because my medicine would cost me $244. That’s basically half my paycheck and it’s hard trying to save up to go back to college when you keep having to pull money out of your savings to pay for pills. I’ve had to pay for everything myself since I was sixteen and it sucks have to put most of my money towards pills.

Lower Rx Prices At County Clinics

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

I’ve been able to save 50% prices on one of my drugs at the county hospital outpatient pharmacy. Since they are a public agency, I only pay the cost plus low cost dispensing fee.

Check your county website for closest hospital or clinic pharmacies - hours, location, and phone numbers.
