Can’t Afford Medicines, So I Rely On Doctor’s Samples

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

I have been on many prescription medicines and had to not take them because of the expense. I rely on doctor samples most of the time. I have severe depression, arthritis, neuropathy, kidney problems, allergies, and cholesterol problems. I am very grateful to Wal-Mart for adopting a program that can help everyone to receive the proper treatment for their illnesses. God Bless.

Antibiotics

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

I have taken antibiotics my entire life. I was recently treated for an UTI and was prescribed Macrobid for my condition. Since I’ve never had problems with antibiotics before, I took the medication as prescribed. Several days later I was covered in hives from head to toe. I immediately called my doctor and they said I was allergic to the medication. So from now on I must take another form of antibiotics.

Prednisone For Poison Ivy

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

We moved to Kentucky to be with my family. I am very allergic to poison ivy. We did not have insurance, so we tried everything over the counter that you could possibly think of. The only thing that works is Prednisone. Luckily, the generic Rx is not that expensive, and it works!!!

Birth Control

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

I started taking birth control when I was 15 because I was having severe cramping and PMS. My doctor put me on birth control to help with my symptoms. It took many different brands to finally get the right pill that didn’t make me sick. I’m very thankful there are many different brands of birth control one was finally right for me!

Self Employed

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

I am self-employed and cannot afford health insurance at this time. Dr’s cost enough, and then to add meds to it, I would be broke. My son and daughters have insurance. As for me, I could not afford any. As I am now finding out, it is going to cost about $250.00 a month just for my basic meds.
