Upper Respiratory Infection

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

I am a senior who has applied for disability. I am currently unemployed and no medical or prescription insurance. I have not received a determination on my claim yet so I do not have Medicare. I really need some help with a prescription for an upper respiratory infection right now. Thank you.

Help

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

Terminally ill. Trying to get disability. Can’t afford doctor or meds or help. The blind society have been the only help I’ve had and they can only do some help. But I have so much more medical and medicine I can’t do anything about. I guess social security waits for you to die to be approved. I have been told I am also legally blind, can’t get those meds either or meds I’m suppose to be on the rest of my life.

Joanna’s Story

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

I am 23 years old. I have recently been diagnosed with Bipolar/schizophrenia. My mother has a similar disease and my father does not live at home. I live in a small town in New Hampshire, Marlow. I cannot hold down a job without my medication but am not able to pay the high cost of my medication, which costs $142.00 for a two-week supply. I will never be able to get myself back on my feet without the medications. It’s a vicious circle!!! My boyfriend and I are trying to get our lives going but can never do it if I do not get help.

Widow Left With No Income

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I am a widow with no current income except social security. I am using two expensive prescription drugs and cannot afford these without assistance. I am currently on Medicare Part A, Part B, and I just joined Part D, the prescription drug benefit. However, Medicare only helps with so much. I am also seeking information and application assistance for Medicaid, which is a program that is different in each state. I live in Texas and I am not sure whether I qualify for Medicaid. I must apply through the Texas Health and Human Services division for assistance.

Diet And Weight Control Using The Glycemic Index

Friday, December 29th, 2006

I used to be much confused by various weight control diets till I came across a book on glycemic index. I understood that foods with low glycemic index are the key to weight control. If I carefully monitor the glycemic index of foods that I eat, I can distinguish between good and bad carbs. By limiting to low glycemic index foods, I was able to control my weight without starvation diets.
