Mr Angel Cisneros

My grandchild has been getting sick on and off for the past year. We have been having a hard time getting his medications so we are hoping this will be the answer to affording these medications and getting him well again. We have been trying other programs but to no avail since my grandchilds' mother did not put my son as the father we have not been able to get him medical or anything else.

Middle aged and disabled

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

I became disabled after being diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer last year. I tried to work but the side effects from chemo are unbearable so I had to resign as I had no sick leave time I could use. Out of 6 medications I am only able to afford 2 due to my small disability income. I have neurothopy from chemo that may or may never go away. The pain is so bad that I am unable to walk without pain meds. I have incredible bone pain as well as bi-polar and insomnia. I recently found out I have osteopenia and borderline osteoporosis and have been prescribed fosomax. In researching the cost of my drugs, fosomax is between $450 and $550 per month. If only the neurothopy would subside, I would work just for insurance. I have applied for patient assistance programs but have been turned down because I qualify for medicaid medically needy which does me no good. I have a monthly medicaid spend down amount of $1069.00. In other words, this is like a monthly deductible.
I don't know where to turn except to God. I know he will take care of me. Thank you for listening. It helps just to get this out of me.

I am 19-years-old. My parents can't afford to put me on medical insurance and I take the drug Paxil. It's really expensive to go to doctors to prescribe it and then fill my prescription with no insurance. I really can't afford it and without it I get really depressed and upset. Paxil works for me and I've been on it for a couple years. I really need it in my body to function healthy.

The Story/The Realization

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

A few years ago we learned that our son would more than likely be born with sickle cell. The doctors explained the long list of extended procedures and life long ailments? We?ll with lots of hope and tons of love to give we decided to give his birth the green light anyway! To date, he has not suffered through a single symptom or procedure. Nothing.

The story, however, is in the realization that regardless of our careers or the attempts to plan for the possibility of a lifetime of treatment, we would not be able to afford the medical bills.
