You Gotta' "Hang in There"

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

In 1995 I was permanently injured in an industrial accident. After 2 years of various lower spinal surgeries and extensive physical therapy I am able to walk and use bowel and bladder at an almost normal level. I cannot walk as far or as long as I used to, but at least I can ambulate. Also, due to the location of the injury to my spine, (nerves, muscles, bone, etc.) the injury has left me with a permanent lifting limitation, meaning, I can't lift or carry anything heavier than 20 - 25 pounds.
Well, after being out of work for 8 years, losing my home and family thru a divorce, a friend suggested that I look into the Trucking industry. Thanks to Voc. Rehab I learned the skills to drive tractor trailers, and landed a decent paying seasonal job that doesn't require a lot of lifting and standing.
Sure, I'm in intense pain 24 hours a day because as a professional driver, I'm not allowed to take controlled substances. But at least I am earning a paycheck and feel somewhat like a human being again.

No Insurance!

Sacrifices have 2 be made when you have no insurance sometimes. You have 2 get part of your meds. Sometimes let bills go, just 2 afford meds. Especially the important ones!!
Discounts cards have become a large part of our society today. Saving money everway we can is important. just so we can keep the family afloat!

well im a stay at home mom with two disabled children. their medicine is so expensive i frankly cant afford to go to work. their meds alone are approximately 5000 to 8000.00 a month.
my husband works but the insurance through his company is so expensive we cant afford it. he gets paid every two weeks and if we took out his policy it would take half his two week pay check to cover the cost of it.
it really stinks!!!

A year ago I was overweight. I saw my doctor and he help me with a great diet I and my family could live with. Over a year later, I lost 15 pounds and my husbands cholesterol has dropped. Just eat healthy and exercise every day, even if its just a 19 minute thing

No insurance

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Right now I have no insurance, I'm divorced from a service man where I got free prescriptions and have not had the oportunity to get a job yet as I have two small children. I am sufering from severe panic attacks and my one doctor that I'm able to see did write me a prescription for relief. I cannot function, go grocery shopping, and have trouble with dizziness, breathing, and several more debilitating symptoms when these attacks occur. I cannot live like this anymore. My Mom just died and the panic has come full force now. I need to get back to my old self, get a job, go shopping, w/o having to worry about where and when these attacks are going to occur.
