Food Supplements

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

As a child, I had frequent infections. Someone introduced my mom to food supplements (Shaklee brand), and since then, the number of infections I've had has greatly decreased.

I also love starting my morning with a protein shake. I find it gives me more energy throughout the day.

I AM A RESIDENT OF NEW ORLEANS, LA, AND I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH ADD/DEPRESSION ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO. MY CYMBOLTA AND RITALIN IS SO EXPENSIVE, AND MY INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER PRESCRIPTIONS. I AM REALLY SCARED THAT SOON I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO AFFORD MY MEDICATION, AND MY LIFE WILL COMPLETELY FALL APART. SINCE TAKING MEDICATION, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP A JOB, BUT SINCE THE HURRICANE, LIFE IN NEW ORLEANS HAS BECOME EXPENSIVE. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP/SUGGESTIONS.

Asthma

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

I was diagnosed with asthma late in my life. I found out the hard way I was allergic to some of the asthma medications. Then the Dr tried a newer medication on me called Zopenex. It worked great and I finally found something that really worked for my asthma.

Diabetes at 32

Tuesday, March 13th, 2007

I got diagnosed with Diabetes, September 26, 2006. I had been feeling ill for the past 3 weeks. There was just no improvement, I was ill by the minute. When I finally got to see my doctor…my sugar level was over 800. The doctor's face turned white..all he could say was, "You belong in the hospital". The moment I walked our of his office. I took charge.. I went to my Diabetes classes and began to eat right and exercise. My sugar is now controlled, though I do have my days. I hope to eventually get off the meds. I have also lost a total of 30 lbs. My story is still ongoing….
